Bring on the food industry

Since starting their business in 2011, the team at ACS Recruitment have demonstrated a real passion for the recruitment industry locally. Passionate about placing people is their slogan and helping local people gain employment in the area as well as providing clients with a truly consultative service has been their mission.

Previous years have witnessed various successful joint ventures working with both national and local businesses to evolve and create a better candidate and client journey. When it comes to work seeking and talent resourcing – this year is no exception.

Having developed a real niche for the retail and logistics sector locally, it comes as no surprise that the team now want to spread their wings and share their expertise within a new and historically challenging sector.

ACS Recruitment have recently applied for and been awarded, a GLAA licence (Gangmaster and Labour Abuse Authority) which enables them to provide staff to the local food manufacturing industry. The GLAA was introduced in 2004 to regulate the food and agricultural industry ensuring the labour providers within this sector were not exploiting workers within the sector. The team at ACS are now keen to share their passion with this industry across their branch operation and onsite recruitment model which has seen some great success locally too.

We spoke to Chris Wright, Sales & Operations Director, on their motivation for joining the food sector of which he remarked, “The food production sector was an obvious choice for the direction of our business. Having already built a solid reputation for a quality service in the county within both our commercial and industrial divisions, we feel the time is right to spread into the food industry.” Chris added, “We feel we are different to other recruitment agencies in the area and loyal client base goes to prove that. We have a real desire to make a difference to the industry and on speaking to contacts within this sector, it was clear they could benefit from our service propositions.”

“We are delighted the GLAA have approved our application for a licence and we cannot wait to start supporting clients in the area.”

ACS Recruitment pride themselves on being a truly ethical recruiter, priding themselves on working with clients of the same mind set.
